Dreaming
in
English As
a
non-native
English
speaker,
I
often
dream
in
Chinese.
However,
there
are
times
when
I
do
dream
in
English
and
those
dreams
always
feel
surreal. In
these
dreams,
I
find
myself
conversing
with
native
English
speakers
without
any
difficulty.
I
am
able
to
express
myself
fluently
and
understand
everything
that
is
said
to
me.
It
feels
liberating
to
be
able
to
communicate
in
a
language
that
is
not
my
mother

the
dreams
involve
me
being
in
an
English-speaking
country
and
navigating
my
way
around
without
any
language
barriers.
I
feel
a
sense

pride

as
I
blend
in
with
the
locals
and
order
food,
buy
tickets
and
ask
for
directions
with
ease. Other
times,
the
dreams
are
more
surreal,
with
nonsensical
situations
and
conversations
that
only
make
sense
in
the
dream
world.
Nevertheless,
it
is
always
exciting
to
experience
something
different
and
unexpected. Despite
the
fleeting
nature
of
dreams,
I
always
feel
a
sense
of
longing
whenever
I
wake
up
from
a
dream
in
English.
It
reminds
me
of
the
endless
possibilities
that
come
with
learning
a
new
language
and
opens
up
a
whole
new
world
of
opportunities. Dreams
may
not
always
reflect
reality,
but
they
can
be
a
source
of
inspiration
and
motivation
for
us
to
strive
towards
our
goals.
Who
knows,
maybe
one
day
I
will
be
able
to
dream
in
English
on
a
regular
basis.
