外国人看中国周公解梦

As
an
outsider,
I
was
fascinated
by
the
ancient
Chinese
practice
of
dream
interpretation
known
as
Zhou
Gong's
interpretation
of
dreams.
This
practice
originated
from
the
classic
Chinese
text,
平水孟派
Zhou
Yi
Meng
Pai,
which
dates
back
to
the
Western
Han
Dynasty
over
2000
years
ago. From
what
I
understood,
the
Zhou
Gong's
interpretation
of
dreams
involved
the
interpretation
of
symbols
and
metaphors
found
in
dreams.
The
interpretation
could
be
done
by
a
professional
dream
interpreter
or
by
an
individual,
using
dream
interpretation
manuals. One
thing
that
struck
me
was
the
use
of
symbolism
in
the
interpretation
of
dreams.
This
practice
seemed
to
me
like
a
combination
of
psychology
and
spirituality,
as
it
involved
exploring
the
subconscious
and
understanding
the
deeper

behind
our
dreams. It
was
interesting
to
note
that
in
ancient
China,
dream
interpretation
was
considered
an
art
form,
and
a
skilled
dream
interpreter
could
gain
fame
and
respect
in
society.
Moreover,
the
interpretations
were
considered
valuable,
as
dreams
were
believed
to
be
foretelling
of
future
events
and
gave
people
insights
into
their
own
character. I
also
learnt
that
Zhou
Gong's
interpretation
of
dreams
has
been
adapted
into
modern-day
feng
shui
practices.
Many
Chinese
still
rely
on
dream
interpretation
to
help
guide
their
decisions
and
gain
insight
into
their
personal
and
professional
lives. Overall,
as
an
outsider
to
this
culture
and
tradition,
the
practice
of
Zhou
Gong's
interpretation
of
dreams
was
incredibly
unique
and
intriguing.
It
seems
like
a
powerful
tool
for
personal
growth
and
self-awareness,
and
I
can
see
why
it
has
stood
the
test
of
time.
